What Each Spec Tells You

Length

Inside length decides what fits. About 90 inches suits calves and moderate cows. 105 inches and up holds big cows and bulls without the tail hanging out.

Weight

Chute weight is steel. Under 1,000 lb flexes with big cattle. Over 1,700 lb stays put without being bolted down.

Headgate

Self-catch lets one person work alone. Manual works on mixed sizes and horned cattle. Some headgates switch between the two.

Warranty

Runs from 1 year on Tarter to 15 years on Arrowquip’s 8700 and 8800. Lifetime coverage on locks is common on Priefert and Arrowquip.

Comparison Questions

Where do the prices in the comparison come from?

The same dealer and retailer listings used on the squeeze chute price page: Tractor Supply, Howard Stores, Ackerman’s, Farm and Ranch Store, NRS, Linn Post and Pipe, Salt Creek and AL Silencer. Where a dealer shows a sale and a regular price, the range is shown.

Why do some specs show a dash?

The manufacturer does not publish that spec for the model. The table shows a dash rather than a guess.

Can I compare a manual chute against a hydraulic one?

Yes. Pick any three. Hydraulic prices include the power unit unless the headgate line says it is extra.

Does the price include freight?

No. Freight is extra on nearly every chute. Store pickup at Tractor Supply avoids it for the Tarter, Priefert and CountyLine chutes.
